WHO WE ARE
|
The building as you see it today, dates back to the 1800’s. Until the mid 1900’s, it was a point of reference as a restaurant and inn for those crossing the valley. After decades left abandoned, it was restructured along its original architectural form, restoring some of the more significant particulars. The corridors and stairs are of the stone originally used (local granite) and the ceilings are cross vaults. Some of the windows are arched, denoting an antique “nobility” as are some of the handmade wrought iron gratings. The bearing stone walls are of great width [70cm] as well as the external walls, thus acting as natural isolation for the rooms making them cooler in summer and less cold in winter. The apartments all have their own entrance and each regulate their own central heating: room with double bed and bunk bed; sitting room with a double sofa bed and kitchenette with kitchen units, oven and TV. Confortable rooms plastered in the rustic “engadinese” style, furnished in natural pine wood, that can accommodate from 2 to 6 people, all with own bathroom and TV. Possibility of seasonal, monthly, weekly, weekend or daily rental. Small animals are welcome!! |
"Rooms, board, refined cooking, moderate prices, 3 km from Chiavenna. Quiet place, ideal for holidays and families" (1938) |
